It’s no secret that thousands of folks from all over the globe escape to the Cape for a spectacular summer vacation. While it’s a cherished destination at the top of many wander-lists, to us native mermaids, Cape Cod is where we call home all year round.
If you’re a local, then you know all about the magic that happens when the hustle and bustle of the tourist take-over fades away, right about the time when the trees start to shed their leaves. Vacant beach parking lots and untouched shorelines can make you feel like you discovered a deserted island where no one else has wandered before.

Feasting with Friends: The Fishermen's View
It’s not easy finding friends who will dine with me while I snap pics of my food (yes, the struggle is real!). But it’s a little easier when I have friends who are also focused on making Cape Cod connections.
After we wandered around his hometown of Sandwich (stopping at Instagram-worthy spots for a photoshoot), we decided on an epic lunch location featured in Boston Magazine’s List of "Best Cape Cod Restaurants" for 2018.
The Fishermen's View is located at 20 Freezer Road in Sandwich, MA
Visit a fantastic year-round Cape Cod dining destination, Fishermen’s View Seafood Market & Restaurant! They definitely live up to the name with 270 degrees of uninterrupted waterfront views! #CapeCodLifeStyle
The sweetest crew helped me choose from an elegant menu boasting everything from the catch-of-the-day seafood, to sushi, and tasty traditional New England cuisine. We had an awesome afternoon making new friends—just another reason to come back and visit off-season!
Bruins & Brews: Sand Dollar Bar & Grill
If you’re looking for a laid-back location that’s sure to satisfy your sporty spirit, then make it your off-season goal to wander to the Sand Dollar Bar & Grill. Their casual but classic Cape Cod vibe makes it a perfect spot to chill out and watch the Bruins play with an ice-cold beverage or brew.
There are plenty of fellow hockey fin-atics ready to assist you while you break-away from your daily grind, unwind, and get your game grub on (see what I just did there?).

I usually prefer a barstool whenever I head out to watch some hockey, but when I saw picnic tables in the dining area, my summer-lovin' soul couldn’t resist! I was faced with a tie between feasting on Thai Chicken Tenders or trying Fried Green Beans for the first time.
Simple solution...Both. #SCORE
The Sand Dollar Bar & Grill is located at 244 Lower County Rd
Dennis Port, Massachusetts
Be sure to check out the ceiling-of-fame showcasing hockey jerseys and tons of signed hockey sticks (all hockey puns intended)!
